Officers believed to be from Voi Police Station have been captured on CCTV breaking into a girls’ hostel before assaulting, and forcing the girls to swim on a floor soaked with water.
The incident at St. Elizabeth Ladies Hostels comes two days after protests by Coast Institute of Technology students. They were demanding the removal of the school’s principal and his deputy.
In a phone call interview with TV47 Digital, Taita Taveta Police Commander Francis Sang however refuted claims of police brutality. He challenged the students to make a formal complaint at the police station.
