A Kisii University lecturer has been found dead in his house.
The cause of Peter Nyang’acha Moracha’s death is yet to be established, though all evidence points to a gruesome murder.
His body was found inside his rented house in Mwembe area yesterday. It had deep wounds on the face, as those inflicted with a knife or panga.
Nyang’acha, who taught Environmental Science at the Kisii-based public university, was last seen in public 10 days ago. His disappearance stoked the curiosity of his brother Vincent Moracha, who went on his trail.
Vincent discovered the gruesome scene of Nyang’acha lying in a pool of blood. Area chief Yobes Onkanga Mose says Nyang’acha could have been dead for the 10 days he has been missing.
The family suspects Nyang’acha was murdered by an intruder who escaped through the rear exit of the estate. Nyang’acha, 40, hailed from Suguta, Nyamache sub County, Kisii County.
His body was taken to Kisii County Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem as police continue to conduct investigations.
