A family in Kisumu County was forced to spend part of their Friday, February 18 night out in the cold after unusual visitors-monkeys- paid them a visit.

The family of Nicanor Odongo from Akingili village was about to enter their house after a busy day when three monkeys invaded their home.

According to Odongo, his wife and three children did not enjoy their evening meal because the three primates, in their usual trickery nature, sneaked into their house, eating all food meant for supper.

It took the efforts of the family and neighbours to contain the tricky situation.

Even with all that reinforcement, it took them about two hours to successfully chase away the intruders from the house.

Only one monkey was captured while the others managed to retreat to their natural niche.

Apparently, this incident is not unique in the area as residents have been in constant conflict with monkeys over the years.

The wild animals have been destroying their crops, calling upon the Kenya Wildlife Saervice to come up with a permanent solution to the menace.
