A 70-year-old man has been arrested over the death of father of American-Trinidadian rapper Nicki Minaj.
Charles Polevich was arrested after he turned himself in at the New York City police department.
Robert Maraj, Nicki’s dad, died after being hit by a vehicle on Friday last week.
Polevich is accused of hitting the 64-year-old and leaving the scene of a deadly road accident. He is also accused of trying to disguise his car.
According to Sky News, detectives were able to track Polevich’s white Volvo right to his house.
Polevich is said to be owning a home on New York’s Long Island, but lives in Guam, a US territory in the Pacific Ocean.
Had he not fled the scene of accident, Polevich may have not faced the charges staring at him.
The death of Nicki comes just four months after she gave birth to her first child with husband Kenneth Petty.
