Drama ensued in Kwale after a swarm of bees disrupted a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) recruitment exercise.
It was a normal recruitment day for KDF officers and over 500 recruits who had gathered at Vigurungani grounds in Kwale, until the rude bees invaded at around 11am.
The unprecedented foes forced everyone, including the KDF soldiers, to run for their dear lives.
A video circulating on social media shows the army hopefuls running helter-skelter, with those who came with motorbikes finding it easy to flee the ‘war zone’.
The ongoing KDF recruitment exercises across the country has been marred with con artists.
A former KDF officer was on Tuesday, February 16 evening arrested for allegedly defrauding Kenyans in an army recruitment con game.
Washington Mutinda was arrested at Mlolongo’s Gallas Resort in Machakos County, when he was just about to defraud money from two unsuspecting Kenyans.
Two forged calling letters from the ongoing KDF recruitment exercise and KSh180,000 was recovered.
KDF, through the Department of Defense, on January warned Kenyans to beware of criminals who are selling fake recruitment calling letters.
KDF said that genuine calling letters are free and can only be issued at respective recruitment centres.
