A man in Kisumu County was on Thursday, February 18 arrested after he allegedly attempted to bribe KDF officials in the ongoing recruitment exercise.
Dennis Odhiambo was arrested after attempting to draw the attention of Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officers conducting the recruitment exercise at Diemo Primary School in Seme, Kisumu County.
Odhiambo had written a symbolic figure (300) on his feet, implying that he was ready to cough up KSh300,000 to be recruited as an army officer.
Confirming the incident, Seme Sub-county Police boss Hellen Ngetich said that Odhiambo’s parents have also been arrested for questioning.
The suspects are being held at a Seme police post, awaiting further legal action.
The recruitment exercise began on Monday, February 8 and has been ongoing across the country.
