The late Simeon Nyachae’s body has arrived in Kisii ahead of state funeral tomorrow.
A Kenya police chopper carrying the remains touched down at Kisii School grounds shortly before 11 am.
County government official led by governor James Ongwae received the body before it was ferried to his rural home in Nyosia.
Kisii County Commissioner Allan Macharia says over 10,000 mourners are expected to attend the funeral service.
He has appealed to the members of the public to cooperate with traffic police especially at Kisii town central business district tomorrow.
Macharia adds that the government will monitor adherence to Covid-19 protocols notably social distancing, hand washing and wearing of face mask during the funeral service at the stadium.
Nyachae, former Cabinet Minister and MP for Nyaribari Chache, died on February 1 after a long illness.
