Two people (a pilot and passenger) died yesterday evening after a plane they were in crashed at Nanyuki Airstrip soon after take off.
According to the Kenya Wildlife Service, the two were headed to Meru National Park.
“KWS is deeply saddened by the loss of two members of staff aboard a two-seater Husky aircraft registration number 5Y-KWL, which crashed immediately after takeoff from Nanyuki Civil Airport,” said KWS in a statement.
KWS and Mountain Rescue had their teams on the ground for evacuation. The cause of the crash is yet to be established but investigations are ongoing.
