A man who is accused of attacking a class eight pupil in Vihiga County, inflicting grievous injuries leading to his death has been arrested.
52-year-old John Christon Shipiti was arrested on Wednesday after the 17-year-old boy he allegedly attacked in August 2020 succumbed to his injuries.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the boy succumbed to the severeity of the injuries, moments after seeking treatment at a Vihiga hospital.
The man is said to have been angered after suspecting the 17-year-old pupil at Chemego Primary School was having a love affair with his 13-year-old daughter.
“The victim’s legs, cheeks, forehead and upper lip had been most affected, but the unfortunate incident was kept under until yesterday,” says the DCI.
The suspect is in custody pending arraignment for murder, as the body awaits autopsy.
