Mwilu, Supreme Court judges give Chief Justice post a wide berth

Acting Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu is not among the applicants who are eyeing the Chief Justice (CJ) post.

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) on Wednesday released a list of thirteen applicants interested in succeeding retired CJ David Maraga, with her name missing, to the dismay of a section of Kenyans.

Also, the six judges of the Supreme Court have also given the Chief Justice position a wide berth. Despite many Kenyans

The list of those who have expressed their interest in heading the arm of government responsible for interpreting and upholding the rule of law are;

JSC Secretary Anne Amadi says that submissions of applications closed on February 9, 2021 at 5 pm.

Subsequently, the commission will now proceed to shortlist and publicise the list within 14 days as provided in the First Schedule of the Judicial Service Act.

JSC also revealed nine applicants for the position of the judge of the highest court in the country. They are as follows;
