Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has been admitted to Nairobi Hospital with stomach complications hours before his appearance in court today.
The embattled ex-governor was taken to hospital on Tuesday morning after falling ill complaining of stomach pains.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) however is having none of that saying they are waiting for Sonko at the Kiambu Law Courts for the assault and forced entry case.
He was scheduled to appear before magistrates at the Kiambu and Kahawa West courts respectively for robbery and terror cases.
The magistrate at Kiambu Law Courts was set to rule on Sonkoβs bail application in a robbery with violence and assault case. Sonko has since denied the charges.
At the Kahawa West court, a ruling was to be made on an application by police to detain him for 30 days to complete a terror probe.
On Monday, DCI sources revealed that they are investigating Sonko’s escape from Shimo La Tewa Prison over 20 years ago.
Detectives are also seeking to hold the former governor for 30 days to conclude their investigations over Sonkoβs alleged links to planning terrorism and financing.
