Halkano Konso, the fugitive MCA from Uran, Marsabit County, has surrendered to police.
Konso presented himself to DCI officers in Nairobi yesterday evening. He had gone into hiding following the arrest of four men on suspicion of supplying arms to fan the ongoing conflict along the Turbi-Sololo border.
DIC detectives had launched a manhunt for Konsa after he went underground last Saturday. They had paraded an AK47 assault rifle with 10 bullets, ostensibly recovered from a county government vehicle.
Konso is said to have fled the scene in a different vehicle, prompting the manhunt.
Konso has now been handed over to the anti-terror police unit for further questioning. He will be arraigned in court alongside the four others.
