Police in Gilgil have recovered body parts believed to be those of a woman who mysteriously disappeared from her home in Naivasha in December last year.
The shocking discoveries were made after the cops who have been investigating the disappearance of Sarah Nafula arrested two suspects, one of them being the victim’s boyfriend.
Police reports say that Nafula’s former boyfriend confessed to killing her before cutting the body into pieces and dumping them in four different locations, in a bid to get away with the murder.
The body parts which were recovered under a culvert near the Naivasha Mall include the skull and parts of the hands.
When the 24-year-old woman went missing last year, the case was first reported at Gilgil Police Station by members of her family after a long search.
Rumours had it that Nafula had returned to her rural home in Western Kenya, but police traced her mobile phone location to her boyfriend’s house in Industrial Area estate in Naivasha, leading to the arrests.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the suspect committed the murder before locking the body in the house for a day.
Confirming the arrests and discovery, Gilgil police commander John Onditi said that the search for other body parts is ongoing. He said that the suspect has confessed to killing Nafula on suspicion of having an extra-marital affair.
“The suspects have confessed that some of the body parts were dumped in a latrine in the residential plot where the couple lived,” said Onditi.
Upon her death, Nafula who was working in a flower farm in Naivasha was cohabiting with the main suspect.
