Detectives based in Kakamega have launched a manhunt for 32-year-old man who allegedly killed his brother yesterday after a dispute over maize.
Robinson Techera Munyenya went into hiding after fatally hitting his brother. The two had disagreed over maize.
“The suspect is reported to have picked up a quarrel with his 41-yr-old brother at 6am, after suspecting the latter of having stolen maize from his house,” said the DCI.
“A physical confrontation ensued, attracting the attention of their father who intervened and separated them. The elder brother had, however, been overpowered in the punch-up fracas. He later succumbed to the injuries around 5pm, after which the suspect escaped.”
Maize in most parts of Western Kenyan is milled to make flour. It is measured in tin cans known as ‘gorogoro’.
