Jubilee Insurance has appointed Stanely Chege as the Group Chief Information Officer (CIO).
Chege’s appointment at the insurance firm is effective January, 2021. He was the immediate former CIO at Madison Insurance.
An Information Technology guru in his own right, Chege has been tasked with the responsibility of delivering key aspects within the technology department.
He will be liable for maintaining a reliable technology strategy that will be readily available hence the backbone of the organisation.
He will oversee operations in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzanian, Burundi and Mauritius.
He is currently a Doctor of Business Administration student at the prestigious Walden University and holds an MBA, and BSC degree in IT. Β
His extensive experience in multiple insurance markets is expected to help him manage Jubilee Insurance, whose operations have grown more complex in recent years.
Prior to his stint at Madison Insurance, Chege had served at Mwamba Africa as the Director of Governance, Risk, and Compliance after which he moved to Cooperative Bank, where he served as the head of ICT Quality Services for a period of 4 years.
His appointments come a fortnight after the promotion of Zimbabwean Tavaziva Madzinga, a strategy expert, as the chief executive of BRITAM Holdings to replace long-serving Benson Wairegi, who is retiring at the end of this month after 40 years of service.
Jubilee Insurance Ltd, was established as the first incorporated Insurance Company based in Mombasa in August 1937. However, they have since spread their wings in the region with offices in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, and Mauritius.
They are recognized as the largest Composite Insurer in East Africa with over 450,000 clients.
