US popstar Madonna visited Kenya recently.
Her posts on social media enthused about Kenya, Baringo County, and the culture of the Pokots.
“Visiting the Pokot Tribe in the Baringo Valley was a special moment for all of us. They invited us to dance with them and shared their daily prayer of thanks,” she writes.
Madonna flew in by helicopter and was received with song and dance by a troupe of traditional dancers. In the video, she and her entourage (who include toy boy Ahlamalik Williams) join in the dance.
“They are nomadic warriors and here the men are singing, dancing and telling stories to attract the attention of the females. #samburu #inspiration #kenya”, she writes on Instagram.
It was not immediately revealed whether she was in the country on holiday or charity mission.

This morning, another tweet portrayed her contentment with the visit: “Kenya……. you’re always on my mind,” she wrote.
