Renowned tour operator Robert Cullens Murimi is dead.
Murimi was reportedly trampled to death by a stray elephant at Nkoteiya Conservancy in Maralal.
A police report filed at Maralal Police Station says that Murimi’s body was found lying inside a forest with multiple injuries.
The 50-year-old had reportedly visited the conservancy with his business partner, a Spaniard identified as Jordin, and three Kenya Wildlife Service rangers.
The three rangers had taken Murimi and Jordin for an excursion in the conservancy when the stray elephant attacked them.
The report says that “they ran for their lives but the deceased did not manage to escape.”
His body has since been flown to Nairobi onboard a chopper.
