22-year-old Lawrence Warunge, a prime suspect in the Kiambu killings that claimed four family members and their worker has been arraigned in court alongside his girlfriend Sarah Muthoni.
Appearing before Kiambu Chief Magistrate Patricia Gichohi Monday, the two were detained for 14 days to allow detectives to conclude their investigations.
Warunge and Muthoni will be detained at Gigiri and Muthaiga Police stations respectively. Warunge is accused of killing his parents and three siblings.
He has since revealed how he executed the heinous act. He has confessed to have drawn his inspiration from Killing Eve the series.
“He first hit on the head using a metal bar and immediately on becoming unconscious, he could stab the chest several times on each of the victims in order to damage respiratory organs,” a detective narrated their findings
Killing Eve is a series centred around the main character, Eve, tracking down a sociopath assassin with a dagger as his weapon. The weapon he used is evident enough that the inspiration came from the series.
His grilfriend was arrested after the crime.
