Former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile has gifted Julius Wambua, a man who was framed for defiling his daughter nearly a decade ago, with a two-acre piece of land in Kibwezi.
Ndile has also promised to build Wambua a house after it emerged that he had no home to go to after his release from prison.
Wambua says he has forgiven his daughter and the mother who orchestrated the false rape allegations that saw him spend eight years in jail.
Wambua was released from Kamiti Maximum Prison on Thursday last week after a Machakos court freed him on a cash bail of KSh30,000. He was met by his family, including his daughter Dorcas Wambua.
Justice George Odunga also ordered the case to begin afresh.
βThe case should begin afresh and all sentences by the Kithimani Court and High Court be quashed. Wambua is an innocent person and there are no compelling reasons to deny him bond,β ruled Justice George Odunga.
Wambua has been serving a life sentence after he was found guilty of defiling his then 10-year-old daughter in 2011.
His daughter recanted her evidence saying that the whole βrapeβ case was choreographed. She says that her mother planned to frame the dad for her personal gain.
