A chief in Kaujakito location, Teso South, Busia County, has allegedly killed his brother following a family feud.
George Ikemer is said to have hit Ernest Etyang on the back of his head with a rungu (baton) two days ago. He died while receiving treatment at Kocholia Hospital.
Irate members of the public descended on the chief, threatening to lynch him. He was rescued by local police.
Tears of a widow
“I don’t know who will help me to raise my children,” wept Mary Achola, wife to the deceased.
Willy Cheboi, Busia deputy county commissioner said investigations have been launched on the incident. “We shall establish the truth of the matter. The law will take its course.”
Mr Cheboi also cautioned residents against taking the law into their own hands. “If you any issue, report to the police so that approprite action is taken.”
