968 people have tested positive for coronavirus. The total caseload in the country now stand at 77,372.
Today’s cases were recorded from testing 6,610 samples. Total sample size tested in the country now stand at 839,614.
In terms of gender, 584 are males and 384 are females. The youngest is a two month old infant while the oldest is 91.
From the cases 888 are Kenyans and 80 are foreigners.
According to the Ministry of Health, 1,131 patients are admitted in various health facilities countrywide whiloe 7,023 are on Home Based Isolation and Care. 63 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 36 of whom are on ventilatory support and 26 on supplemental oxygen.
76 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen out of whom 74 are in the general wards and 2 are in the High Dependency Unity (HDU).
Distribution of cases to counties is as follows; Nairobi 42, Mombasa 91, Kilifi 88, Busia 73, Kiambu 54, Kajiado 30, Nakuru 22, Uasin Gishu 21, Machakos 17, Murang’a and Nyeri recorded 16 cases each, Bungoma 14, Kirinyaga 13, Makueni, Kisumu, Turkana, Tharaka Nithi and Meru has 11 cases each, Marsabit 8, Laikipia, Narok has 4 cases each, Kisii, Homabay, Elgeyo Marakwet, Mandera has 3 cases each, Nandi and Kwale has 2 cases each, Kericho, Wajir, Nyandarua and Trans Nzoia has 1 case each.
155 patients recovered from the disease, 110 recovered from the Home Based Care Program while 45 have been discharged from various hospitals in the country.
Total recoveries now stand at 51,507.
Sadly, 14 patients have succumbed to the disease bringing the cumulative fatalities to 1,380.
