559 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Our cumulative cases in the country now stand at 70,804.
From the new cases, 541 are Kenyans while 18 are foreigners. In terms of gender, 336 are females and 223 are females. The youngest is a one-year-old baby and the oldest is 82.
According to the Ministry of Health, 1,228 patients are admitted in various health facilities countrywide while 5,960 are on Home Based Isolation and Care.
“64 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 27 of whom are on ventilator support and 33 on supplemental oxygen. Another 97 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen out of whom 74 are in general wards while 23 are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU),” a statement to media houses read
According to the Ministry of Health, the cases are spread across 28 counties as follows; Nairobi 278, Meru 82, Kilifi 41, Mombasa 41, Kiambu 27, Machakos 16, Uasin Gishu 15, Kajiado 9, Isiolo 8, Nyeri 6, Busia 4, Kakamega 4, Tharaka Nithi 4, Garissa 3, Muranga 3, Mandera 3, Kwale 2, Marsabit 2, Nakuru 2, Kirinyaga 1, Vihiga 1, Homabay 1, Taita Taveta 1, West Pokot 1, Tana River 1, Kitui 1, kISUMU 1 and Elgeyo Marakwet 1
478 patients have recovered from the disease. From the recoveries, 337 are from the Home-Based Care Program while 141 have been discharged from various hospitals in the country.
Total recoveries in the country now stand at 46,244
Sadly, 18 patients have succumbed to the virus bringing the fatality rate to 1,287
