Matungu Member of Parliament Justus Murunga is dead at the age of 60.
Murunga passed on on Saturday, November 14 evening at St. Mary’s Mission Hospital in Mumias.
The late Amani National Congress MP had been admitted at Agha Khan Hospital in Kisumu for two weeks battling diabetes and was just discharged today.
He suddenly fell sick again with breathing problems and rushed to the hospital.
Murunga was last seen in public in October 25, 2020 when he hosted Deputy President (DP) William Ruto for a church service and a fundraiser in Mumias.
On that day, the DP was accompanied by MPs Charles Gimose (Hamisi), Caleb Kositany (Soy), Malulu Injendi (Malava), and Benjamin Washiali (Mumias East).

Former Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale: “It is with a heavy heart that I have learned of the death of Hon Justus Makokha Murunga, the MP for Matungu in Kakamega who collapsed at his home 3 days after his discharge from Kisumu Aga Khan Hospital where he had been treated for diabetes. RIP my brother.”
