Nakuru Court has ordered the Inspector General of Police Service Hillary Mutyambai to reinstate Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi’s security details without fail.
Senior Resident Magistrate Isaac Orenge said the action to withdraw Sudi’s security was illegal and unconstitutional.
In his ruling, the magistrate observed that the process was marred with illegalities and was not done in accordance with the law.
Sudi had on Tuesday filed an application seeking court orders to suspend the decision by the government to withdraw his personal security.
The MP further claimed that his personal details were withdrawn immediately after his arraignment for hate speech and offensive conduct
Through his lawyer Kipkoech Ng’etich, the legislator questioned the legality of recalling his security.
Kipkoech says the move was ill-motivated and exposed his client to insecurity and disfranchise his services to his electorate.
Sudi is expected back in court on October 30 for the hearing of his hate speech case.
