Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha has on Wednesday, October 7 rubbished claims of not being able to reopen schools as planned due to court cases, saying that anyone can go to court but the reopening will go on as scheduled.
Addressing the media during his tour at the Kisumu National Polytechnic ahead of the phased reopening of tertiary institutions, CS Magoha assured parents that no children will be sent home because of school fees.
The CS added that Sh13 billion will be sent to government schools latest today or by tomorrow to facilitate Free Primary and Secondary Education.
He, however, acknowledged that observing social distancing in schools may be a tall order.
This comes a day after Prof. Magoha announced the reopening of Grade 4, Class 8, and the Form 4 students.
