Nominated MP David Ole Sankok has been dewhipped from the National Cohesion and Equal Opportunity Committee.
In a communication to the House, National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi says that he received a letter dated 25th September 2020 from Majority Whip Emmanuel Wangwe, notifying him that Jubilee Party had decided to discharge Sankok from the committee.
“Having perused the documents through which the Jubilee Party transmitted the decision to discharge him [Sankok], I am satisfied that the process leading to the discharged met the requirements set out in Standing Order 176. Accordingly, the discharge of the said member takes effect immediately,” says Speaker Muturi in the communication to the House.
Ole Sankok will be replaced within 14 days.
