Saleh Wanjala aka ‘Bungoma’s James Bond’ has died at the Bungoma County Referral Hospital.
According to a close relative, Wanjala died after a short illness.
Wanjala shot into limelight in May 2016 when he hung on a chopper that was ferrying the body of businessman Jacob Juma from Posta Grounds on Kanduyi to his rural home.
Upon noticing that someone was hanging on the chopper, the pilot Emmanuel Chelagai was forced to make an emergency landing at Bungoma Airstrip.
Wanjala was arrested and charged for interfering with the safety of an aircraft resulting to an emergency landing, endangering his life and those of the occupants of the chopper.

The 'Bungoma James Bond ' who made headlines for clinging to a chopper that was ferrying the remains of slain businessman Jacob Juma is dead.
He now joins Roger Moore in the list of Bond actors in the Ian Fleming franchise who have died.
