The normal flow of traffic on some sections of Mombasa Road, Uhuru Highway and Waiyaki Way will be interfered with due to the ongoing construction of the Nairobi Expressway.
According to the Kenya National Highway Authorities (KeNHA), it will be closing 500 metres on Waiyaki Way, starting from Goodman Tower to Sanlam Tower.
The road section will be closed from 26th September 2020 to 1st April 2021.
The authority is directing all vehicles from City Centre heading to James Gichuru direction to turn left into the service road before St. Mark’s Footbridge and rejoin Waiyaki Way after Mvuli Road.
Consequently, pedestrians have been directed to use the designated pedestrian crossing in front of Park Inn Hotel.
“Motorist are further requested to follow directions as shall be indicated on the road signage provoded, and/or by traffic marshals on site,” said KeNHA.
KeNHA adds: “We apologise for any inconvenience that may be caused as we endevour to improve the existing infrastructure along this critical section of the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway (A8 Road).”
