Migory County Assembly Speaker Boaz Okoth on Wednesday, September 23 adjourned the assembly for three weeks, following chaos that erupted after the reinstatement of the former Deputy Speaker George Omamba.
The chaos started when five MCA’s believed to be allies of Governor Okoth Obado stormed in while the session was ongoing, disrupting the proceedings before injuring one of the female MCA’s
Reports say that the MCAs were hiding in one of the county assembly offices, before storming the session.
Tension has been brewing in the assembly since Tuesday, September 22 forcing the MCA’s to hold a kamukunji over the internal fights revolving around the assembly’s leadership.
Omamba was impeached in May last year together with the Assembly Clerk Tom Opere, Bukira East MCA Mathews Chacha and Emmanuel Abala.
The latest development now means that ODM plans to impeach Governor Obado are in disarray.
