TV47 launches on DStv, it offers fresh programming by telling the untold stories

TV47 viewers across the country and world over have every right to smile, with the fastest growing TV station now launching on DStv.

Starting today (Wednesday, September 23) at 11am, TV47 will be available on DStv Channel 268.

With the latest milestone, this means that the Cape Media-owned TV station will be available for all DStv subscribers on DStv  Premium, Compact Plus, Compact, Family and Access.

Speaking about the launch, Cape Media CEO Abubakar Abdulahi said that TV47 is excited to be able to offer content to DStv  customers across the country, promising to keep “our programming fresh by telling the untold stories” and driving educational and entertaining programming for the youth.

“We deliver a vast range of shows that DStv viewers can look forward to in the coming days,” said Mr Abubakar.

On her part, MultiChoice Kenya Managing Director Nancy Matimu said that DStv is excited to onboard TV47, which is part of their promise to offer more local and relevant content that suits Kenyans’ needs.

“We are excited to have TV47 as part of our growing local content offering on the DStv platform. TV47 adds to free-to-air channels and we look forward to the entertainment that the channel will bring to our DStv viewers across the country,” said Matimu.

TV47 is a 24-hour free-to-air TV station in Kenya broadcasting across Kenya’s 47 Counties thus the number 47 in its channel naming.

The channel prides itself in providing content across multiple genres that is relatable to the Kenyan people, their interests and passions. The channel’s content spans through a wide range of local general entertainment shows, local news, local sports and business coverage, local religious shows and even local higher education shows.

TV47’s main target audience is the youth/young adult segment ranging from 20-30 years. To appeal to this audience TV47 has a casting of hosts across its major shows who are youthful, energetic, and passionate about delivering locally relevant stories and content to Kenyan audiences.
