Deputy President (DP) William Ruto on Tuesday, September 22 evening paid an impromptu visit to Jubilee Party headquarters in Pangani, Nairobi.
It is not yet clear the reason for DP Ruto’s visit to the party headquarters, but himself has said that it was purely “for party matters”.
“Jubilee is a national party that is founded on the principles of inclusion, cohesion and transformation of our country. Our politics is driven by ideas that are people-centred. At Jubilee Party Headquarters in Pangani, Nairobi County, for party matters,” tweeted DP Ruto.
Ruto was not received by high profile party officials.
Following IEBC’s notice that it will conduct by-elections in December 15, the ruling party notified all its members who are interested in various seats to submit their applications by midday, September 24.
One of the vacant seats that is likely to elicit fears political showdown is the Msambweni MP seat that fell vacant after ODM MP Suleiman Dori succumbed to cancer back in March.
