KNUT gives nod to school reopening, says pupils and students will be safer in schools than at home

KNUT Secretary General Wilson Sossion has urged teachers to develop a checklist of mapping out all the learners and ensuring that everyone resumes to school once they are opened.

Addressing the media on Tuesday, September 22, the nominated lawmaker emphasized the need for every student to resume learning, including those who are expectant, citing that they will get every support that they need.

“If a girl is pregnant and comes back to school we shall support them until they deliver, even if it means giving them nutritional support. We will do it even if it means medical care,” said Sossion.

Sossion further urged the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to ensure all girls and boys are back to schools irregardless of the challenges and situation they have been exposed to.

This comes a day after Education CS George Magoha ordered that teachers report to school by September 28.
