Kenya has recorded 198 recoveries, 139 new COVID-19 cases, 9 deaths; Total number of cases 37,218

Coronavirus cases in the country hits 37,000 mark


Kenya has recorded 139 coronavirus cases bringing the total number of cases in the country to 37,218. From the cases, 12 are Kenyans while 14 are foreigners. In terms of gender, 112 are males and 22 are females. The youngest is a four year old while the oldest is a 82 year old.

In the last 24 hours, 1,774 samples were tested bringing the total number of samples tested in the country to 520,124 samples.

Distribution of cases by counties is as follows; Nairobi 46, Kisumu 44, Mombasa, Kajiado, Kericho 9 cases each, Kiambu 6, Laikipia 4, Machakos 3, Nakuru 2, Garissa, Kirinyaga, Kisii, Makueni, Meru, Embu and Turkana has recorded 1 case each.

Fortunately, the country has recorded 198 recoveries bringing the total number of recoveries to 24,247. Out of the 198 recoveries, 46 recovered from Home Based Care Program and 152 have been discharged from various health care facilities in the country.

On a sad note, 9 patients have succumbed to the disease bringing the total number of deaths to 659.
