Subukia Parliamentary aspirant Simon Ngugi has urged Politicians from the Mt Kenya region to be united as they strategise on President Kenyatta’s succession.
Addressing the media in Nakuru, Ngugi urged the leaders to align the region with candidates who they are assured of support once they get elected stating that any miscalculation might land the region in the opposition thereby denying it power to lobby for national government projects.
Ngugi however noted that Ruto remains a formidable force and a candidate with high level of acceptance across all regions in the country as President Uhuru’s successor .
He further criticized the regions’ leaders attempting to support Ruto at this hour saying it is already too late because he has already won the hearts of Mount Kenya people who do not need to be coerced.
The Aspirant urged senators to be careful on the revenue sharing formula citing that a win for Mt Kenya counties does not mean a win for communities living in the region, according to him, the majority of Mt Kenya communities do not live in the region hence will be disadvantaged if the resources do not trickle down to all parts of the country.
Ngugi singled out Subukia as one of the marginalized areas on development projects under National Government despite it being inhabited by communities from the Mt Kenya region.
