Kathiani Member of Parliament Robert Mbui has lamented over the disregarding of COVID 19 containment measures by political leaders and top civil servants.

Speaking on Tuesday, September 15 after inspecting CDF projects in his constituency, the lawmaker slammed the top political leaders, citing an example of the Deputy President William Ruto who last Sunday congregated with huge crowds at different places.

‘”These terrible behaviours by the politicians translate to the public that coronavirus is no more and that everyone should go his way freely without observing anything,” said the MP.

Mbui who is also the organising secretary of Wiper party lashed out at former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama for portraying there was opposition in Ukambani, a move, he he says, deviates the community unity.

“Let Mr Muthama and his master know that the Kamba community is solidly united behind Kalonzo Musyoka under the umbrella of the Wiper party,” he said.

He further added that those allied to Muthama politically should take an about-turn and return home before its too late.
