A widow of 80 years old, Mrs Katharina Walele, is appealing to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti to intervene in the fraud and forgery case of a property worth Sh600 million that he had inherited from her late husband.

Addressing the media at her home in Majengo, Mvita sub-county, Mrs Walele who is the widow to prominent Mombasa businessman the late Gaspar Walele, claims that her three sons and the family advocate have colluded to deprive her of her inheritance.

The family advocate is alleged to have colluded with Mrs Walele’s  three sons in forging the will signatures of the late prominent businessman.

The properties worth Sh600 million include a commercial building, plots both in Mombasa and Nairobi and a land in Taita Taveta.

“It’s against the African culture for the family property to be divided when the widow is still alive,” said Mrs.Walele.

Mrs Walele said she was married to her late husband when she was only 18 years old, having 12 children with the late Walele but four are deceased, leaving them with 8 children (5 daughters and 3 sons).
Her husband died in 2012 aged 75 years old. Mrs Walele alleges that immediately after the death of her husband she has been at loggerheads with her sons who want to disinherit her through forged will documents.

The widow is now demanding the arrest of her three sons, their family lawyer and her secretary for plotting to defraud her and her five daughters of their share of inheritance.
