Police officer among 2 arrested for stealing IDs

DCI detectives based in Kiambu on Monday, September 14 arrested a police officer and a lady over fraud.

Boniface Nthenge, a police officer stationed at Kitengela, and Lucy Syombua are believed to be members of a syndicate that has been fraudulently registering sim cards.

They then use them to acquire loans and other benefits from a leading mobile service provider.

“Hundreds of fraudulently registered simcards and an electronic equipment believed to be used for hacking purposes have been recovered from the ladies house in Umoja-Nairobi.” Qouted the DCI.

Investigations into other activities of this syndicate are ongoing as detectives pursue other members for arrest and arraignment.
