Kenya’s COVID-19 recoveries shoot to 22,047 as 490 more patients recuperate


Kenya has recorded 143 new COVID-19 cases out of the 3,854 samples that were tested in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 35,603.

129 of the 143 cases are Kenyans while 14 are foreign nationals. The youngest patient is a 9-month-old infant while the oldest is 83 years. The males constitute 85 of the cases while females are 58.

On a positive note, 490 patients have recovered from the virus today. According to Health CAS Rashid Aman, 242 of those recoveries were from the Home-Based Care program while 242 were discharged from various hospitals across the country. Total recoveries have now risen to 22,047.

On a sad note, 5 patients have succumbed to the disease, bringing the total death toll due to COVID-19 in the country to 612.
