The body of former Mathare United and Harambee Stars forward Kevin Oliech arrived in the country on Thursday, September 3 night ahead of his burial on Saturday.
The body of Oliech, who died on August 16 after battling cancer for the last four years, arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at about 10 PM.
Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko was among those who received the body at JKIA, pledging to support the family ahead of burial in Seme, Kisumu County.
Kevin Oliech, who is the brother to Harambee Stars legend Dennis Oliech, also played for Thika United, Nairobi City Stars, Tusker, and Ushuru.
His death comes 2 years after her mother, Mary Auma Oliech, died in July 2018.
