Kenya records 12 COVID-19 deaths as 544 more test positive; total cases rise to 19,125

Kenya records 544 new COVID-19 cases from 5,259 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

Cumulatively, the number of samples that have been tested so far stands at 289759.

Out of the 544 cases, 340 are males while 204 are females.

113 patients have been discharged from various hospitals bringing total cumulative discharge to 8,021 recoveries.

The CS further said that 634 health workers have tested positive to the disease which he said is about 3% of the cases reported.

Kagwe also said that PPEs is suffieciently available for all the 47 counties.

CS KAGWE: We have realised that the weather that we are experiencing at the moment is also part of the reason why COVID-19 figures are rising up.

12 people have succumbed to the disease, raising the death toll in the country to 311.
