Kenya has recorded 309 new COVID-19 cases from the last 24 hours bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 7,886, this is according to Health CAS Dr Rashid Aman.
Speaking during the daily COVID-19 press briefing at Afya House, Dr Aman said that the 309 cases were detected from the 4,228 samples that were tested in the last 24 hours. The cumulative number of samples tested so far in the country now stands at 189,263.
217 of the new cases are males while 92 are females. Today, the youngest patient is a one-year-old infant while the oldest one is an 83-year-old.
The cases are distributed in the counties as follows; Nairobi 193, Kajiado 22, Kiambu 20, Mombasa 18, Makueni 17, Busia 11, Machakos 9, Nakuru 8, Nandi 3, Turkana 3, Narok 2, Nyandarua 1, Kakamega 1.
51 patients have been discharged from various hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of COVID-19 recoveries in the country to 2,287.
Sadly, one patient has succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, bringing death toll due to COVID-19 in the country to 160.
