Kenya has recorded 120 new COVID-19 cases out of the 2,221 tested samples in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 6,190.
The 120 cases are all Kenyans except 5 who are foreign nationals. The youngest of the new cases is a 6-year-old while the oldest is an 83-year-old.
Males continue to lead in the cases of coronavirus, accounting for 84 of the new cases, while the females are 36.
The cases are distributed in the counties as follows; Nairobi 67, Mombasa 17, Kajiado 9, Machakos 9, Kiambu 8, Uasin Gishu 4, Nakuru 2 and Narok 2.
Fortunately, 42 patients have been discharged from various hospitals across the country, bringing the total COVID-19 recoveries in the country to 2,013.
Sadly, one patient died of the virus, raising the death toll due to COVID-19 to 144.
The 67 cases in Nairobi are from; Westlands 12, Dagoretti North and Lang’ata 11 each, Kibra 6, Makadara & Starehe 4 each, Kamukunji 3, Embakasi Central, Embakasi East, Embakasi North, Embakasi South, Embakasi West & Mathare 2 each, Kasarani, Roysambu, Ruaraka, & Umoja, have 1 case each.
In Mombasa, the cases are from Mvita 6, Changamwe, Kisauni and Likoni 2 cases each and Jomvu 5.
The Kajiado cases are from Loitoktok 6, Kajiado North 3. The Machakos cases are from Athi River 4, Machakos Town 3 and Matungulu 2.
