Kenya has recorded 278 new COVID-19 cases out of the 4,074 samples that were tested in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country to 5,811.
All the cases today except two are Kenyans. 181 of them are males while 97 are females.
The youngest patient is a 1-year-old infant while the oldest is an 84-year-old.
The new cases are distributed in the counties as follows; Nairobi 171, Mombasa 37, Nakuru 17, Kiambu 12, Busia 10, Uasin Gishu 9, Kajiado 4, Migori 3, Kericho, Machakos, Nandi and Trans Nzoia have 2 cases while Siaya, Taita Taveta, Kwale, Kisumu, Makueni, Meru and Vihaga counties have one case each.
31 patients have been discharged from various hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of COVID-19 recoveries to 1,936.
Sadly, four patients have succumbed to the virus, bringing the death toll due to COVID-19 in the country to 141.
