Kenya records 178 new cases, 34 recoveries as total cases rise to 5,384

178 more people have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 5,384.

All the 178 new cases are Kenyans except for three of them. The youngest patient today is a one-year-old child while the oldest is a 76-year-old.

The case are distributed in the counties as follows; Nairobi 100, Kajiado 21, Migori 17, Kiambu 16, Busia 8, Mombasa 7, Machakos 4, Nakuru 2, as Uasin Gishu, Kericho and Taita Taveta had one case each.

34 patients have been discharged from the hospital in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of COVID-19 recoveries to 1,857.

Sadly, 2 patients have succumbed to the disease raising the total deaths due to COVID-19 in the country to 132.
