Kenya’s COVID-19 cases pass the 5,000 mark as 254 test positive

Kenya has recorded 254 new COVID-19 cases out of the 4,859 tested samples in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 5,206.

All the new cases are Kenyans with 186 being males while 68 are females. The youngest is a 4-year-old while the oldest is a 92-year-old.

The new cases are distributed in the counties as follows; Nairobi has 127, Mombasa 36, Migori 29, Kajiado 22, Kiambu 12, Busia 9, Uasin Gishu 5, Murang’a 3, Machakos 2, Kilifi 2, as Nakuru, Siaya, Taita Taveta, Garissa, Isiolo, Kakamega, Kisii having one case each.

41 patients have been discharged from various hospitals across the country, bringing the total number of COVID-19 recoveries in the country to 1,823.

Two patients, however, succumbed to the virus over the same period of time, raising the death toll due to COVID-19 to 130.
