Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula was on Sunday (May 31) ousted as Ford Kenya Party leader on grounds of gross misconduct.
The Ford Kenya National Executive Council (NEC) met on Sunday at Nairobi’s Raddison Blu Hotel and elected Kanduyi Member of Parliament Wafula Wamunyinyi as the interim party leader.
Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati and the party’s Secretary-General Dr Eseli Simiyu were among the notable members who convened the meeting.
Secretary-general Eseli Simyu said that the party had lost its ideals under Senator Wetangula’s tutelage, and therefore the need to re-align for 2022 politics.
Youths allied to Wetangula had earlier on tried to abort the NEC meeting but their efforts were futile.
