Former Starehe MP Bishop Margaret Wanjiru has recovered from COVID-19.
Addressing the media on Saturday (May 30), the Jesus Is Alive Ministries founder said that upon being admitted at the Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi she did not know she had contracted coronavirus.
She said that she had food poisoning, and that is why she was rushed to hospital.
Bishop Wanjiru said that two of her grandchildren and six of her staff members are currently in quarantine.
Bishop Wanjiru was diagnosed with COVID-19 on May 22, with reports saying she was placed on supplementary oxygen.
She is said to have hosted 18 people in her Runda home, eight of whom also tested positive for COVID-19, although Wanjiru has refuted the claims, insisting that she was with her family and not visitors.
