Kenya has recorded 72 new COVID-19 cases out of the 2,711 tested samples in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 1,286.
According to Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi, 70 of the new cases are Kenyans, one is a Somali nationality while one is a Ugandan.
The new youngest of the new COVID-19 cases is a 12-year-old while the oldest is a 78-year-old.
In terms of gender, 44 are males whole 28 are females.
The new cases are distributed as follows; Nairobi has 52 cases, Mombasa has 11 cases, Kiambu has seven cases while Isiolo and Turkana counties have a case each.
Over the same period, nine patients have recovered and discharged from hospital, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 402.
Unfortunately, one patient has died, bringing the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 to 52.
