Legislator Babu Owino has been recognised by the UNICEF for his efforts in providing online classes to students during the lockdown that has resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The actuarial science and law graduate was applauded by the international organisation for his efforts in giving free classes on both Mathematics and Chemistry lessons on his personal social media pages.
According to a report published the United Nations, close to 127 million students are out of school as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The recognitions came at a time when the MP faced criticism from Education PS Belio Kipsang saying that, he was untrained as a teacher to deliver tutor services to students.
