In response to the COVID-19 pandemic BBC Africa TV will be producing a weekly 30minutes program to help combat the pandemic by providing necessary information to our populace, fighting misinformation and proving necessary life hacks as people try to cope with quarantine the show will air every Sunday at 8:00 pm The breakdown’ is a weekly special program that offers audiences a 360-degree view of the corona pandemic as it moves through the African continent. With the use of numbers, ‘The Breakdown’ will explain what governments in Africa and around the world are doing, the true cost of the lockdown, and the science and health information audiences need to know. We answer our audiences’ questions and concerns using the BBC’s Africa Health, Business, and Fact-finding expertise and will expose the myths surrounding the outbreak.
It explores acts of kindness within communities and makes sense of our changing world. ‘The Breakdown’ highlights important life hacks during this period, addressing how people are coping in the quarantine and surviving the new normal.
